CASHD Partners with Ministry of Education for School Health Programs

We're excited to announce our new partnership with the Ministry of Education, FCT, to expand sexual and reproductive health education across 50 schools in Abuja.

A Milestone Partnership for Adolescent Health

The Center for Adolescent Sexual Health and Development (CASHD) is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with the Ministry of Education, FCT, through the Universal Basic Education Board and Secondary Education Board.

Program Objectives

This collaboration will bring comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education to over 15,000 students across 50 schools in the Federal Capital Territory. The program includes:

  • Age-appropriate sexual education curricula
  • Teacher training and capacity building
  • Student peer education programs
  • Parent engagement workshops
  • School health clubs and support systems

Why This Matters

Research shows that comprehensive sexual education empowers young people to make informed decisions about their health, reduces risky behaviors, and promotes positive relationships. By integrating these programs into schools, we're ensuring that every adolescent has access to vital health information.

The partnership will officially launch next month with a training program for 200 teachers who will become health education champions in their schools.

We're grateful to the Ministry of Education for their commitment to adolescent health and wellbeing. Together, we're building a healthier future for Nigeria's young people.
