Dr Lateefat Kikelomo Amao
Dr Lateefat Kikelomo Amao is currently working at the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) as a member of the leadership team of the Federal Government’s national and international response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She is a Senior Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Officer at the Health Emergency, Preparedness and Response Division of the NCDC. She has a Master of Public Health (MPH) from The University of Manchester and presently undergoing a Doctor of Public health (DrPH) at Walden University.
She has over ten (10) years of post-graduate experience in case management of infectious/communicable and non-communicable diseases, technical support at national and sub-national, collaboration with other health agencies in the investigation of diseases and screening and prevention, detection, and control of outbreaks (Lassa fever, Cerebro-spinal meningitis, Yellow Fever and Monkeypox).
She is currently a member of the Case management pillar of the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) for COVID-19 in Nigeria. She led a National Rapid Response Team (NRRT) to support the Case Management Pillar and coordinate the State response with the National response and currently lead the National Monkeypox Technical Working Group for the country.
